Thazina Cook was Iona’s do-it-all guard and a proven MAAC standout
In the 2009-10 season, Thazina Cook anchored Iona’s backcourt as a First Team All-MAAC guard and team MVP, leading the Gaels in scoring at 14.8 points per game and rebounding at 6.7 per game while adding 69 steals and 26 blocks—elite production for a perimeter player. She also showed clutch value and toughness, including a 17-point, five-steal senior-day performance and a reputation as a high-intensity, two-way defender. If you want a guard who impacts winning beyond scoring, Cook was exactly that kind of player.
