Tyler Howe is a clutch, versatile freshman bat who keeps showing up in big UNC moments
In the 2026 season, Tyler Howe has emerged as a useful North Carolina freshman at OF/1B, with repeated spring scrimmage production and a signature game-tying homer plus walk-off blast in a win over Virginia that underscored his poise under pressure. He brings a left-handed bat, sneaky extra-base power, and a willingness to do the dirty work—like laying down a safety squeeze in a critical spot—while also earning All-ACC Academic honors. That blend of athleticism, feel, and high-leverage calm makes him a smart fit for teams that value toughness and versatility.
