Experienced, hard-nosed DB with proven tackling production
Nick Beard brings a physical, reliable presence to the secondary: at Eastern Illinois, he was a defensive back with a background as a high-impact tackler in high school, where he ranked third on his team in tackles for a strong 11-1 Atlantic High squad. That kind of do-your-job, contact-ready profile usually translates well to special teams and depth roles, especially for teams valuing toughness and discipline over flash. He’s the type of player coaches often trust because he doesn’t need the spotlight to make an impact.
