Ethan Barnes brings power-catcher upside to Liberty’s freshman mix
In the 2026 season, Ethan Barnes arrives at Liberty as a 6-foot-1, 200-pound freshman C/INF from Magnolia Heights HS, with a reputation as a tough, right-handed bat and a high-level prep résumé that included Mississippi State Player of the Year nominee buzz and four state titles. His fit hinges on versatility: he can help behind the plate or around the infield, and that kind of multi-position flexibility is gold for a college roster. The big question is immediate college translation, but the profile screams competitive edge, physicality, and upside.
