Hamlin’s value is the dirty-work package: size, rim protection, and offensive boards
In the 2023-24 season, Jermaine Hamlin gave Eastern Illinois a sturdy frontcourt presence, playing in 23 games, shooting 56.4% from the field, and finishing second on the team in offensive rebounds while also blocking 17 shots. His calling card is not flash—it’s length, physicality, and hustle possessions that coaches love, plus a track record of rim protection dating back to his 57 career blocks at EIU. He did miss about six weeks with injury that season, so durability is part of the evaluation, but when healthy he looks like a reliable, paint-anchoring fit for a team needing rebounding and defense.
