Michigan’s Matthew Cavanaugh brings veteran reliability and academic grit at safety
Matthew Cavanaugh is a steady, experienced Michigan safety who earned two-year letterman status and twice landed on the Academic All-Big Ten list, signaling a disciplined, trustworthy presence in the defensive backfield.[5] ESPN’s career page shows 10 total tackles (3 solo, 7 assisted) in his Michigan career, which suggests his value has leaned more toward depth, preparation, and dependability than splash plays.[2] If your team needs a smart, hard-nosed defensive back with strong character and low-drama consistency, he’s a fit; if you want a high-volume ballhawk, he’s probably not your guy.[2][5]
