Versatile South Alabama DL with edge-to-interior juice
Whatley is a disruptive, high-motor defender whose best college stretch came late, when he paired production with uncommon versatility by working both on the edge and inside; as a senior, he posted 39 tackles and 4.5 sacks, and South Alabama listed him as a starting defensive end in spring practice. His appeal is his effort, positional flexibility, and backfield penetration more than pure size, which makes him a fit for teams that value movable defensive fronts and pressure from multiple alignments.
