SUU's Sharpshooting Guard Turned Assistant Coach
Hailey Mandelko, a standout guard for Southern Utah Thunderbirds from 2012-14, lit up the Big Sky Conference with elite 3-point shooting—50% from deep in key games and a career-high six threes in a 22-point explosion vs. Portland State—leading the team at 11.8 PPG as a sophomore while ranking top-10 in SUU history with 203 career 3s made. Her clutch scoring, field goal efficiency, and leadership make her a differentiator; now in her sixth season (as of 2023) as an assistant coach, she's transitioned her basketball IQ to mentoring, ideal for teams seeking a proven shooter or tactical mind with Big Sky grit.
