veteran Iowa State DB with special-teams grit and coachable reliability
Gage Shaeffer is a long-tenured Iowa State defensive back whose value has been tied to versatility, experience, and special-teams trust rather than eye-popping box-score production. In Iowa State’s 2013 football notes, he was recognized with the Ennis Haywood Consideration Award, a clue that coaches valued his effort and role-player consistency. He profiles as the kind of steady, physical, team-first DB who can help in multiple phases if you want dependability, maturity, and a competitive edge more than headline-grabbing flash.
