Jacob Thomas gives UNF a rare left-handed look with upside and local poise
Jacob Thomas is a redshirt sophomore left-handed pitcher for North Florida in the 2026 season, and the Ospreys note that he is their only returning lefty on the staff[1][4]. He brings local credibility from St. Johns Country Day, where he was a three-year varsity letter winner, helped win multiple district titles, reached two regional championships, and posted an 8-1 senior season with a 2.53 ERA and 57 strikeouts[2][4]. His profile suggests a pitcher with feel, command, and matchup value more than flash, which makes him a useful fit for a staff that needs a dependable southpaw option[2][10].
