Virginia Tech’s Rebounding Guard with 2006 Career-High 14-Rebound Game
A.D. Vassallo (Angel Daniel Vassallo), a Guard/Forward for Virginia Tech, is best known for his elite rebounding intensity as a perimeter player—highlighted by a career-high 14 rebounds in a 2006 NCAA win over Wake Forest, a rare feat for a G/F. While his 2022-23 international shooting stats show modest efficiency (31.6% FG, 31.3% 3P), his differentiator is physicality and hustle: he consistently out-rebounds larger opponents, displays high-intensity defense, and brings a gritty, team-first personality. No major injury history is recorded. For teams needing a versatile, rebounding guard who can play multiple roles and elevate possession value through effort, Vassallo is a strong fit despite shooting limitations.
