Former Old Dominion edge defender with early special-teams value
Bernard’s profile is that of a depth DE/edge piece who earned snaps in 2016 and 2017, including work on special teams, after redshirting in 2015; he also brought a track record of production from high school, where he logged 67 tackles and 7 sacks as a junior. His value is less about box-score dominance and more about effort, versatility, and willingness to contribute in multiple roles, which can matter for a team looking for a dependable rotational defender.[2][1]
