Veteran West Virginia interior anchor with blue-collar disruption upside
In the 2026 West Virginia roster listing, David Upchurch is described as a senior defensive tackle and the leader of the defensive line, with the site noting 66 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, and four sacks last season[1]. That profile screams tone-setter: a powerful inside presence with proven backfield disruption, plus the kind of “natural feel for the game” and blue-collar mentality that usually translates well in a rugged front[1][2]. If your team wants a dependable, experienced DT who can control the middle and bring edge, he’s the kind of piece that makes defensive coordinators smile[1][2].
