Kemari Copeland is Virginia Tech’s trench tone-setter, and the stats back it up
In the 2025 season, Copeland emerged as a disruptive force for Virginia Tech, starting all 12 games and posting 48 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, and 4.5 sacks, with a three-sack eruption against Cal that earned him ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week honors. At 6-foot-2/6-foot-3 and around 290 pounds, he brings power, leverage, and real interior pass-rush juice; the extra context matters too, because he bounced back from a season-ending quad injury in 2024 and still returned as a third-team All-ACC player in 2025. In short: he’s the kind of rugged, high-motor DL who fits a team that wants nastiness up front.
