Ike Shirey keeps delivering clutch, all-around impact for Tarleton State
In the 2026 season, Tarleton State senior shortstop Ike Shirey has been a two-way spark plug: he was named a Brooks Wallace Award semifinalist, earned another WAC All-Defensive Team honor, and posted a .315 average with seven doubles, five triples, two homers, 34 RBI, and 14 steals while starting all 48 games at shortstop. He brings more than numbers, too—high-energy, dependable defense, switch-hitting-style production, and timely bats like a bases-loaded triple and key RBI swings. He looks like a strong fit if you want a veteran middle-infield leader who can defend, run, and win tight games.
