Wayne Queen brings size, speed, and a rising special-teams role to Idaho’s linebacker room
In the 2025 season, Wayne Queen was a redshirt sophomore linebacker listed at 6-foot-4 and 212 pounds, and Idaho coach Thomas Ford said he’d be a major special-teams contributor while also appearing in defensive packages. He played in four games in 2024 and recorded two tackles, and he also showed playmaking flashes by intercepting a pass in a 2025 spring scrimmage. The big hook here: he’s a local, high-upside athlete with uncommon length and athleticism, plus a reputation for a real “freak” factor—exactly the kind of developmental piece coaches love to mold.
