Avery Wright gives HCU a rangy, productive linebacker with proven tackling volume
In the 2025 season, Avery Wright showed clear run-support value for Houston Christian, finishing with 19 tackles and a sack while posting a six-tackle game in an overtime win over Abilene Christian, which points to a defender who can flash in high-leverage moments. He looks like a fit for teams that want an active, physical linebacker who can help against the run and bring energy snap-to-snap, though the available public data is limited and doesn’t give a full picture of coverage ability or year-over-year development.
