Trent Shedd brings old-school linebacker toughness to Samford
Trent Shedd is a physical, downhill linebacker for Samford whose value has been in reliable snap-ready depth and sturdy run support rather than gaudy box-score numbers. In his 2021 season, he appeared in five of seven games and recorded two tackles at The Citadel, while earlier at Corner High he played both middle linebacker and fullback—a good hint at his contact-first, do-everything temperament. He profiles as the kind of tone-setter coaches like: compact, experienced, and willing to mix it up. If a team wants a steady, hard-nosed LB with football background and edge, Shedd is worth a look.
