Julian Hess brings veteran DB versatility to Eastern Illinois
Julian Hess is a seasoned Eastern Illinois defensive back whose profile suggests dependable depth and special-teams value more than headline-grabbing splash plays. In his 2017 season, he appeared in four games, made nine tackles, and even blocked a punt that turned into a touchdown, which hints at effort, awareness, and willingness to impact hidden-yardage moments. His earlier background as a high school two-way player also suggests useful football instincts and toughness. For a roster looking for a smart, gritty, multi-phase contributor, Hess looks like a solid fit.
