Furman’s sturdy, versatile interior lineman with old-school strength
John Marks stands out as a high-floor interior OL piece for Furman because he was described in the 2002 Furman football guide as the team’s first substitute at both guard spots, with the flexibility to play center and the distinction of emerging from spring strength testing as the Paladins’ strongest lineman. That combination of toughness, versatility, and brute-force power makes him the kind of guard coaches trust when the game turns into a trench fight.
