high-upside trench player with a proven defensive pedigree
Danny Stevens is a Samford DL to watch because he brings legit defensive-line bloodlines and a strong all-around football background, including a high-school résumé that featured 66 tackles and 11 tackles for loss in one season. His value is less about flashy box-score production and more about toughness, leverage, and versatility—traits that usually translate well in the trenches. If Samford is looking for a physical, competitive front-seven piece who understands the game and can develop into a dependable run-stopper, Stevens fits the mold.
