Versatile 6'4" wing with prep pedigree, but limited college production at Hartford
AJ Gray is a 6'4" guard/forward from Rochester, N.Y., whose value comes more from versatility, size and athletic background than from a college stat sheet; in Hartford’s 2020-21 season, he appeared in 6 games and totaled 1 rebound in 6 minutes, so the sample is tiny. He arrived with real prep credibility, including 1,000+ career points and a reputation as a multi-sport athlete, which hints at upside if he’s active, physical and developing. If your team wants immediate proven production, the résumé is thin; if you want a long-term project with length and athletic traits, he’s intriguing.
