Arizona LB Matthew Stagg: Veteran Depth, Not a Stat Sheet Stuffer
Matthew Stagg is a seasoned Arizona linebacker who brings experienced depth and reliable tackling fundamentals, with his lone recorded production in 2016 showing 2 total tackles (1 solo, 1 assist). Arizona listed him at 6'2", 232 pounds as a redshirt senior, which suggests a mature, physically developed presence rather than a high-ceiling splash-play profile. For a team, he fits best as a steady rotational or special-teams-minded linebacker whose value is in assignments, communication, and physical readiness more than headline-grabbing numbers.
