Texas Southern’s steady leg: Richard Garcia III remains a proven SWAC weapon
In the 2022 season, Richard Garcia III showed real trustworthiness as Texas Southern’s kicker, and his career line through that year was 25-for-36 on field goals and 153 points with 81 extra points made, plus All-SWAC recognition early in his career[1][9]. He stands out for consistency, game-management poise, and the ability to convert under pressure—exactly the kind of calm, low-drama specialist coaches love when the margins get tiny[8][12].
