UIC’s Sam Silverstein brings glue-guy defense, rebounding, and winning habits
Silverstein is a low-usage but high-impact guard who helps UIC with toughness, rebounding, and disruptive defense; in 2025-26, he averaged 3.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per game while appearing in all 31 games and earning MVC Scholar-Athlete Team honors.[16] At his best, he adds multi-positional value—he has consistently stacked up steals, rebounds, and assists across previous stops—and his captain-type profile suggests reliability, competitiveness, and a team-first fit rather than a pure scorer.[15][12]
