Arizona’s long, defense-first guard with a low-usage, high-grit profile
In his Arizona years, Elliott Pitts stood out as a 6-foot-5 guard who brought length, toughness, and perimeter defense more than box-score flash; in the 2014-15 season, he played in all 38 games and averaged 3.5 points, 1.0 rebounds, and 14.9 minutes. He was repeatedly described as one of Arizona’s best perimeter defenders, which makes him the kind of role player coaches value when they need size on the wing, discipline, and competitiveness. The tradeoff: his offensive ceiling was limited, and his college career ended after he left the program in 2016.
