SIU Salukis' Tackling Machine from 2005 Glory Days
Marlon Heaston, a senior safety for the Southern Illinois Salukis, tied for the team's tackle lead in 2005 with 76 total stops (45 solo), showcasing elite playmaking instincts and relentless pursuit that made him a defensive cornerstone. His differentiator? Unyielding intensity in run support and coverage, earning consistent recognition in the record books—no injury setbacks noted, just pure blue-collar reliability. A proven performer in the tough MVFC, He's a smart, low-risk fit for teams needing veteran leadership and sure tackling without the drama.
