Zach Middleton is the dependable, ultra-academic Cowboys back with a grinder’s edge
In the 2021 and 2022 seasons, Zach Middleton was a depth back for Oklahoma State, appearing in four games as a freshman and logging 10 career carries for 15 yards and one touchdown across his OSU stint.[1][11][12] His calling card is versatility and football IQ: he arrived as a wide receiver, moved to running back in 2021, and earned First Team Academic All-Big 12 honors, which signals a player coaches can trust in the meeting room and on special teams.[1][4] He doesn’t profile as a feature-back stat monster, but he’s the kind of disciplined, multi-sport athlete who fits a program built on toughness, detail, and reliability.[1][6]
