Franz Reisz is an emerging 6-5, 255-pound UNI edge presence with preseason buzz
In the 2025 season, Franz Reisz appeared in all 12 games for Northern Iowa and recorded four total tackles, while earning MVFC Preseason Watch List recognition heading into 2025; at 6-5 and 255 pounds, he brings the length and frame coaches love in a disruptive defensive lineman[1][7]. He was a 2024 redshirt who did not see game action, but his high school resume included IFCA/IPSWA 3A second-team all-state honors, suggesting upside as a developmental fit for a program that values size, effort, and long-term line growth[1][6].
