Michael Benedict is a swing-and-miss righty who has flashed real upside for Bethune-Cookman
In the 2026 season, Michael Benedict emerged as a useful arm for Bethune-Cookman, highlighted by six scoreless innings with six strikeouts across two appearances to earn SWAC Newcomer of the Week honors[1]. He has the frame scouts love at 6-foot-3, 195 pounds and showed he can miss bats and open games cleanly, but his results have been mixed, including shorter outings with runs allowed against stronger lineups[2][4]. The appeal is clear: if you want a projectable right-hander with innings-eating potential and enough stuff to earn trust, Benedict is worth the look[1][3].
