Isaiah Downes brings playmaking range and a knack for clutch stops for Sam Houston
Isaiah Downes is a productive veteran **defensive back** for Sam Houston who made an impact in the 2023 season with **28 tackles, 2 interceptions, 3 pass breakups, and 1 forced fumble** across 12 games, showing ball skills and opportunistic instincts that matter beyond raw tackle totals.[6][5] At about **6-foot, 180 pounds**, he has the size to play with range and physicality, and his late-game interception against Monmouth underscores a reliable, pressure-ready mindset.[4][2] He looks like a fit for teams that value experienced secondary depth with turnover upside and situational composure.[6][2]
