Teddy Ruffner brings captain energy, on-base savvy, and academic-star reliability to YSU’s outfield
In the 2026 season, Teddy Ruffner was a steady, glue-guy presence for Youngstown State: 47 games, 38 starts, 28 hits, 7 doubles, 3 homers, 19 walks, 5 steals, and 20 runs scored, while also earning Academic All-District and Horizon League All-Academic honors.[2][3] At 5'10" and 210 pounds, he looks built for contact, toughness, and pressure spots more than pure loud-tool flash, and YSU listed him as a captain on his profile—always a nice sign for teams that value leadership and consistency.[4]
