gritty Utah Tech forward with upside, rebounding juice, and hometown swagger
In the 2025-26 season, Annalyse Shimada is a freshman forward for Utah Tech whose appeal starts with her toughness and all-around prep production: she finished her high school career with 799 points and 373 rebounds, and at Cedar City she posted 12.7 points and 6.5 rebounds per game as a senior. At 6-foot-0, she brings local-rooted energy, multi-sport competitiveness, and a reputation for being coachable and high-motor. She looks like a developmental fit for a team needing physicality, effort, and frontcourt depth rather than instant-offense flash.
