Cody Russell brings veteran utility and toughness to Morehead State’s backfield
Cody Russell is a compact, experienced Morehead State running back whose value goes beyond the box score: he arrived as a transfer, earned Academic Honor Roll recognition, and even flashed two-way toughness in high school with 500+ rushing yards, 9 touchdowns, 90 tackles, and 12 sacks in his senior season. At Morehead State, his on-field production has been modest, but his profile suggests a hard-nosed, assignment-sound depth piece who can help a roster through versatility, reliability, and team-first grit rather than pure headline-grabbing explosiveness.
