Kelsey Hackett brings clutch contact bat and all-out hustle to Virginia's outfield
Hackett emerged as a reliable everyday contributor for Virginia in 2026, starting all 51 games and hitting .300 with 27 runs and 19 RBI, while also delivering in high-leverage moments for the Cavaliers.[5][4] Her value goes beyond the box score: Virginia recognized her with a Coaches Award, and multiple game clips and reports point to a player who plays with urgency, competes hard, and can change a game with one swing or one smart read.[9][10][1] The main fit question is health, since her 2026 season ended with an injury in the walk-off win over Pitt.[5]
