local Blue Raiders linebacker with old-school toughness and team-first DNA
McWilliams is a seasoned Middle Tennessee linebacker whose calling card has long been effort, physicality, and leadership; in the 2020 season, he played in five games and logged 9 total tackles with 0.5 tackles for loss, and earlier in his Blue Raiders career he showed steady tackling production rather than flashy splash-play numbers[1][3]. Recruiting notes and team comments described him as a local product who “works hard to make everyone around him better” and has the hip-strike/athletic traits to fit a downhill, contact-heavy defense[10]. He looks like a fit for a staff valuing reliability, toughness, and veteran presence over pure stat-padding swagger[1][10].
