Jack James in line to lead Troy’s QB room, but the sample size is tiny
Jack James enters 2026 as a redshirt freshman quarterback for Troy at 6-foot, 210 pounds, and the big story is projection, not production: his 2025 game log shows just one appearance and one rush for -9 yards, while Troy’s preseason depth-chart chatter points to him as a projected starter. He looks like a developmental fit—built for the role, young, and still largely unscouted—but there’s almost no on-field résumé yet, so the appeal is upside, not proven output.
