UMass DT with Steady Tackle Production and Academic Excellence
Cletus Mathurin, a 6-1, 305-lb defensive tackle for the Massachusetts Minutemen, showed reliable depth in 2023 with 25 tackles (9 solo) across all 12 games, building on his freshman year (2019) where he notched 11 tackles in 6 appearances as a reserve—highlighting his consistent motor and quick adaptation from Cheshire Academy. Named to the 2023-24 National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society, he stands out for discipline and intangibles like high intensity without injury flags, making him a low-risk, hard-nosed fit for teams needing rotational DTs with character who plug gaps effectively.
