Chelena Betoney brings veteran glue-guard energy to Northern Arizona
Chelena Betoney is a seasoned Northern Arizona guard whose value shows up in the little things: steady ball control, defensive toughness, and smart, team-first play. In NAU’s 2017-18 stats, she was used in a limited role but posted a respectable assist-to-turnover ratio that pointed to reliable decision-making under pressure. Her compact frame and Navajo Nation roots made her a respected, high-heart competitor in the Lumberjacks’ rotation, and her long journey to a scholarship adds a gritty, resilient edge that coaches usually love.
