Taylon Hunter brings proven inside-linebacker production and steady special-teams value to SIU
Hunter is a high-motor linebacker who already showed he can handle a full workload at Southern Illinois, playing in all 11 games at inside linebacker and on special teams while posting 28 tackles with a career-high six against Indiana State in the season cited by SIU. His value is less about flashy counting stats and more about reliability, toughness, and versatility—traits that matter for a defense that needs dependable run support and an active presence on special teams. If you want a disciplined, assignment-sound defender who can fit into a physical scheme, he looks like a solid, low-drama piece.
