a bruising, production-minded back with proven red-zone punch
Desmin Ward has shown real finishing ability for Eastern Illinois, with a track record that includes 11 rushing touchdowns in a 2009 season and an EIU spring-scrimmage note showing two more scores on six carries in 2010. Listed at 6-foot, 223 pounds, he brings a downhill, contact-loving style that suggests short-yardage value and toughness, plus he’s not just a one-note runner — his high school résumé showed 1,012 rushing yards, 10 touchdowns, and multiple 100-yard games. If you need a physical back who can punish defenses and cash in near the goal line, Ward fits the bill.
