David Willingham brings veteran linebacker heft to Georgia Southern
In the 2026 season, David Willingham is a senior 6-foot-1, 232-pound linebacker for Georgia Southern, giving the Eagles an experienced presence in the middle of the defense[3][6]. His appeal is the classic linebacker package: size, physicality, and the kind of steady veteran profile that helps stabilize a unit rather than flash for headlines[3][6]. If you want a rugged, dependable defender who fits a downhill, contact-heavy scheme, he’s a strong fit; if you’re chasing splashy stat-sheet fireworks, that’s not his lane.
