steady two-way guard with veteran edge
Montez Mathis is a 6-foot-4 guard known for bringing toughness, perimeter defense, and reliable effort every night, with Rutgers listing him as a starter in all 31 games and crediting him with 30 steals in that season. His calling card is not flashy volume scoring; it’s impact plays, defensive intensity, and a mature, team-first profile that fits coaches who value accountability and versatility. He’s a good fit for programs needing a physical, experienced guard who can guard multiple spots and raise the team’s competitive level.
