Zach Shelton brings veteran edge and steady run defense to Gardner-Webb
Zach Shelton’s most documented Gardner-Webb production came in the 2011 and 2012 seasons, when he played in all 11 games each year and totaled 33 tackles, 1.0 tackles for loss, one quarterback hurry, and one fumble recovery in 2012. He profiles as a dependable, physical defensive end who showed availability, consistency, and enough snap-to-snap effort to earn two starts in 2012. The stat line is modest, but the value here is steadiness and toughness rather than flash—exactly the kind of blue-collar fit coaches like on the edge.
