Jerry Gaines brings veteran DB experience to Eastern Michigan
Jerry Gaines is a senior defensive back for Eastern Michigan in the 2026 season, giving the Eagles a seasoned presence on the back end with hometown roots in Canton, Michigan[1]. The value here is less about splashy stat lines and more about stability: a veteran DB can be a tone-setter in coverage, help organize a secondary, and bring reliability to a young defense. If you need a steady, experienced defensive back who already knows the program, Gaines is the kind of fit that quietly raises a team’s floor[1].
