Experienced Spartan safety with real two-way pedigree
In his Michigan State career, Lorenzo Guess played in 45 games and finished with 111 tackles and 4.0 tackles for loss, a solid stat line for a safety who brought versatility and toughness to the Spartans in the 1998–2001 seasons. He helped MSU win the 2000 Citrus Bowl and 2001 Silicon Valley Bowl, and his later work in football strength and player development underscores a reputation for discipline, intensity, and team-first reliability. If you value a hard-nosed, high-IQ defensive back who fits a culture-first locker room, Guess is the kind of Spartan who still makes sense in the story of the program.
