Explosive talent, but the Arizona chapter was rocked by inconsistency
In the 2011-12 season, Josiah Turner showed the tools of a lead guard—elite athleticism, ball pressure, and the ability to make teammates’ lives easier—but his Arizona stint was defined just as much by off-court issues and team suspensions as by production. Arizona listed him as a pure point guard with the ability to impact both ends, while recruiting evaluations called him a superior athlete and excellent shooter, and preps profile data had him ranked No. 40 nationally and No. 8 among shooting guards. If your team wants upside and tempo, the talent is real; if you need steadiness and day-to-day reliability, the fit was a risky one.
