Colby Johnson brings linebacker size, recruiting pedigree, and upside to NC State
Johnson is a **6-foot-2 linebacker** with a **consensus three-star** recruiting profile and the kind of athletic background that suggests developmental upside, including track speed and strong camp testing notes. The available reporting points to a player with range and explosiveness rather than just bulk, which matters for a modern LB fit. I’d care because he looks like a potential multi-phase defender who can grow into a role if coached well; I’d want him on a team that values athletic traits, special-teams value, and long-term ceiling over instant polish.
