Mary Clare Brusek is a two-sport grinder bringing real versatility to Western Michigan
Brusek has given Western Michigan a valuable edge because she’s not just a 6-foot forward, she’s a battle-tested multi-sport competitor who starred in volleyball before making a comeback to basketball after years away from the sport. In the 2025-26 basketball season, she’s been a steady bench contributor with efficient scoring flashes, including a 14-point outing against Valparaiso and a 10-point game versus Ohio, while her volleyball résumé shows high-end toughness, leadership, and production under pressure. That combo makes her a smart fit for a team that wants competitiveness, physicality, and a player who doesn’t need the spotlight to matter.
