veteran Illinois State guard who brings scoring punch and physical edge
Akoon-Purcell is a proven high-usage guard/wing with real shot-making and a veteran profile, having led Illinois State in scoring at 14.1 points per game while shooting a team-best 43.1% from the field in his Redbirds stint. He also showed he can still produce at a high level internationally, scoring 22 points with 5 rebounds in the 2025 VTB League All-Star Game. His value is his blend of toughness, experience, and ability to create offense; the fit question is less about upside and more about whether a team wants an older, productive bucket-getter who can raise the physicality level.
